Tsunami Photography is Louis Keiner (me) and Lesley Etherson (my better half), based in Little River, SC.

We shoot sports, live theatre, portraits and landscapes.

In my day job, I teach physics and oceanography at Coastal Carolina University. My training has been specifically in the area of satellite image processing and analysis for oceanographic applications.

I am a volunteer and photographer for the Palmetto State and Cape Fear Roller Derby teams. I also like to travel around the Carolinas and beyond, photographing other Roller Derby bouts as well.

“A Boy Named Tsunami” is my name for Roller Derby (and occasionally for other contexts as well). The Tsunami header image that you see around this site is my own rendering in Adobe Illustrator of a 19th Century woodcut print “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai.

It’s hard to believe, but this site has existed in one form or another, on one server or another since about 1993. I recently moved my personal website/photoblog here to a site hosted by Zenfolio.
